Since we board dogs all together in a home environment, we do have requirements of the dogs that stay with us for the health and safety of our family and other boarding dogs.
All dogs over the age of 8 months must be neutered or spayed
Must be up to date on vaccinations including Bordetella (aka Kennel Cough) prior to boarding. Sorry, no titers
From June to November the dog must be on a vet prescribed flea and tick preventative such as Revolution or Advantage
Must be 100% non aggressive towards people, children and other dogs
Cannot be on our restricted breeds list (see below)
I cannot stress the importance enough that your dog must have a proven track record of being sociable with other dogs and people. It is essential for being able to provide the type of service that we offer. You can also take comfort in knowing that your dog is vacationing with other dogs here that have been proven very friendly and sociable. Generally, if your dog shows very dominant behaviour at your local dog park, or gets into fights with other dogs (some initial growling is normal), this environment will not be a good fit for your dog. It will be stressful on your dog and other dogs staying in the house.
If you are unsure if your dog is social, or don’t know if they will have problems with other dogs, this is not the place to test it out as we have young children and other boarding dogs that we are not willing to put at risk.
We love all breeds of dogs, but unfortunately, due to lots of experience, we have found that not all breeds love our set up here. Therefore, for the safety of our family and our other house guests, we are unable to accept breeds from the following list:
- German Shepherds/ shepherd mixes
- Australian Shepherds
- Great Pyrenees
- Border Collies
- Pit Bulls
- Many herding breeds, please inquire
- Cane Corso
Thank you for your understanding.
